Look at me! Everybody's doing it and me too :la:

A story of what influenced me! It was harder than expected, cos i wasnt really sure what influenced me... or what of it is visible in what i do...

ok, the order is random. also the size of the image does not measure the weight of it. i came up with 10 things, that explain it best. most of them cover more than just one thing.

  • Hamburg - I think i have the luck to live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world and that is why i added Hamburg to this list. The whole city is amazing, with all its history, architecture and people. (In the photo is the townhall)
  • Typography - What should i say? I always loved Typography and anything about it. I love to look at typographc artworks or do them myself. Or even just read about fonts and history. It is such a wide field that you can learn something new everyday.
  • Pop Art - This kind of art probably had the most visible influence on the 20th century. I was to an exhibit some months ago about Pop Art and i was just amazed by all of it. (Artwork by Andy Warhol)
  • Colors - I love anything about colors. Thinking about complementary contrasts or mixing colors is huge fun for me. I also love colorful things, hence pop art ^^. Shiny solid colors are my favourites to look at or work with. I dont like working dull a lot. Also colors can so easily create feelings or reactions, it is just amazing what you can achieve by the right color choice.
  • Bauhaus - Architecture has always been something i was very interested in. And especially Bauhaus has caught me. I think anything about 60s architecture also fascinates me. Well, Bauhaus also combined architecture and interior design, which i both love. I almost peed myself when i found the new IKEA catalogue in my mail today.
  • Music - I dont think i need to say much about it. Music can give you ideas, it can support your art and it can give you directions. Music has always influenced me, even if not necessarily artistically. I guess everyone can see how Music can have a great influence.
  • Jugendstil - Another one of my favourite art styles. I love the use of style and colors and layout on Jugendstil artwork. This one combines art and design as well, which is probably why i like it so much. (Artwork by Alfons Mucha)
  • Movies - I am a huuuge movie fan. It doesnt always have to be Hollywood, but i think it represents Movies quite well ^^ Here especially looks of movies and scenes are very inspiring.
  • Vectors - Before i came to dA i mainly saw vectors as a tool. But since i experience the whole vector capabilities it has become even more an influence to me. You can crate anything in vector, but i personally like the kind of art where you can see its vector. (Artwork by Jared Nickerson aka `j3concepts)
  • Watercolors - This is the first real art medium i started out with. I just love doing watercolors, it has become almost meditative through the years. I find myself developing there, but i dont really take the time to do more. However, having been doing them for almost 20 years by now must have a huge influence on me. You learn a lot about colors and transparencies working with watercolors. It's a wonderful and quick medium that is just adorable.
