You can also buy this as a laptop skin via Society6 :) (And also some other print sizes) Loves and shares would be very appreciated  This of course also goes for the rest of my still tiny store over there ;) :huggle:

I wanted to make a simple Halloween themed CSS. I ended up doing a crazy ass detailed scenery illustration :stare: I don't know how, but that kinda just hapened :meow:

At first there were the hills, then I started doing a castle, this is actually the second castle. The first one sucked. Took me some time to get a style for this, tried several raster effects before ending up with gradients over everything.
GRADIENT ALL THE THINGS :iconallthethingsplz:

After that, I moved on to creating the graveyard and the trees on the right. Added some more tiny thills and fog in front of the castle… actually added in the moat :faint: Crazy lighting inside the castle… trees on the left. Sometime in between things I created the moon, moved it to a different spot later one… last main thing was the pumpkins and the fences around them. SO MANY THINGS! :faint:

I added a lot of detail :stare: Again, that just happened, wasn't planned at all :B

For inspiration I was mainly browsing dA constantly and looked at a whole lot of artworks :la: Can't put my finger on one or a few in special, too much awesome stuff :XD:

Basically everything you see I created from scratch in Illustrator. The only thing I drew on paper beforehand was a rough layout of the castle, how many towers and where etc.. But I didn't trace that sketch, just had it in front of me :D Of course, since I wanted the whole thing to look kinda quirky and not perfect, working without sketches was okay anyway :)

Um, think that's it?

Hope you like it  :peace:

asdajshdkerksnckansflamf a DD?! :faint:

Thank you alexandrasalas and ChewedKandi for suggesting and featuring this  Love and hate you both :giggle:
I had no intention to log in today at all, since I'm 1) on vacation and 2) stuck in New Jersey with a generator :B So chances were really slim I would notice anything :P Only logged into skype to let my mom know I'm okay and was then hinted at the DD :D

So, I may not reply soon to any comments left on this deviation, but I will try :la:

Stunning use of gradients to create a wonderfully rendered spooky scene. I like how the gradients almost add a texture to this piece. Happy Scalable Halloween all! Creepy Neighbourhood by ^pica-ae ( Suggested by alexandrasalas and Featured by ChewedKandi )

Unfortunately I lost the file to that illustration. My computer is broken, so it would take me a lot longer to redo it :B Maybe next year ;)

Would it help if I saved the picture then sent it to you?

I can easily do that myself ;)
What I lost is the .AI file of the deviation. In order to prepare it for a game, I would really need that or well, redraw it in vector again :B

Well maybe it could be a spring board to continue it or go into something else you obviously have the talent for it
