Once upon a time i started a blog. I wanted to post one artwork every day. Then February came and it was already over.
One of the things i did, was to start a typographical series, displaying the names of members from various bands. Or tv shows, as it happened later on.
You can see a collage of the first 4 here
This one, of course, displays The Gorillaz; a band created by Damon Albarn (music) and Jamie Hewlett (drawings) back in the late 90s. They are awesome! I totally love the latest album release Plastic Beach.
Anyway, i dont know why i picked brown as background color
it just seemed right.
I did this in Illustrator, scribbling the fonts over Futura Medium. Just one standard AI brush and a custom noise pattern. And playing around with transparencies.
Kinda simple, basically just playing around quickly.
