During VecType Week from May 3rd to May 9th LineBirgitte and pica-ae are joining vector and text art forces to host a Contest!

The Theme

VecType Signature

What does this mean?
Use your username or real name to create a Vector Text Art Piece!

There are basically 2 ways of achieving this:
  • You write your signature with the text tool and base your artwork on this.
  • You make a sketch of your signature and vector it or create the font out of shapes in a vector programm.

Which way you choose does not matter, but the result has to be 100% vector.

The Rules

  • The deviation must be a new piece submitted after May 3rd and before May 8th Midnight (GMT+2)
  • It must be 100% Vector. (no raster elements!)
  • It must be submitted to Contests> 2010 > VecType Week (If its not up yet, be sure that we are taking care of it as soon as possible.)
  • No mature/pornographic content! This Contest is open to all ages.
  • Credit all ressources you used and do not use material without permission. (This relates to fonts as well!)
FAQ #81: How can I create links to other deviants, deviations, or websites?
  • 1 submission per deviant.
  • If you have any question, don't hesitate to ask pica-ae or LineBirgitte for help ^^

Hey, this contest sounds like super fun & I am planning on participating, but I have a few teensies questions I hoped that you guys might be able to clear up for me.

Okay, for the finished peices, is there any format (png, jpg, etc) that is preferred and/or resolutions/dimensions? If so which ones.

Also, this signatures themselves, are they to be made from our actual signatures that we sign our names with, or can they just be a vector of our name/username? I was unsure and see that the entries thus far contain both signatures as well as name displays of various styles.

Thank you so much in advance for any help.
Have a super day.

glad to hear you want to enter :eager:

you can choose whatever format you want to upload
and resolution/dimension is up to you

well, you can decide, either use your signature or make it from a font etc.
the style is very free :)

if you have anymore questions, you can always find me in the chat [link]
