Gravity

My entry for theEpics Championship - Round 2. The word given was "Gravity".

After some first concepts that all landed in the trash can i was visiting my parents over the weekend and took some pics. Actually i had taken my camera with me to take pics for another first idea but didnt have any motivation. Then i saw this werid shaped tree that my mom had just been cutting branches of leaving it looking like this.
I saw it and immediately had to think of my word for the contest. Cos it looked like it was floating.
I wanted to put it into an unusual environment, and the New York subway is not really the place you'd expect floating trees. Even tho there are many things in the NY subway o_O.

Anyway, i put the tree in the subway and added some flying newspapers which are actually kinda expected there.

Then i went to illustrator and created some pink tentacles, flying pieces and some text.

I always wanted to do this kinda mixed media artwork (photomanip + vector stuffs) and knew from the beginning i was gonna go this direction.

However i really had trouble finding a god concept for gravity. I decided pretty early to go into the "Zero Gravity" direction and thus the floating came around.

I know, there are some technical flaws, like the light on the tree which i couldnt get the way i wanted.
